Enlisted in 1922
September 1939 serving on H.M.S. Capetown. Bombarded Italian positions at Bardia, Libya and in Red Sea. Capetown was torpedoed by Italian Motor Boat during April ship disabled with many casualties, Towed to Bombay for repairs.
Arthur next ship was H.M.S. Newcastle, this ship took part in raids on Japanese oil facilities in Sumatra and landed Royal Marines for attacks on Japanese forces.

Ivor David Lewis Lloyd
Sargent, Royal Marines, PLY 21032
Ivor enlisted in 1921 and served until October 1945. During World War Two he was on HMS Orion in the Mediterranean and at different time bombarded Italian positions as well taking part in the battles of Calabria and Matapan. This ship also took troops to Greece . Along with the air attacks Ivor saw a lot of action before he was recalled to Britain. April 1942 and Ivor is posted to the minelayer HMS Adventure for seven months.
